Founded in 1866, Steves & Sons is a door manufacturing company producing over 40,000 doors each day. Steves & Sons is a family-owned business founded and headquartered in San Antonio, Texas and has been operating for 6 generations. The Steves family founded the company on the principles of conservative growth and environmental responsibility. That hallmark remains today in every item Steves & Sons manufactures. From incorporating recycled materials, to making products that can conceivably last as long as the application, the Steves family is proud to build on the tradition of environmental respect and responsibility.
Solar Carports
With Steves and Sons commitment to environmentally responsible practices, they wanted to invest solar. They partnered with Big Sun Solar to install solar carports at their flea market location on the Southside of San Antonio as part of the CPS Energy 5MW community solar program. The solar carports not only provide shade to the vendors at the flea market, Steves & Sons uses the solar power to offset energy usage for their business.
I think solar makes sense for all business but in particular, if you’re a multigenerational, family-owned business like Steves & Sons, we’re not going anywhere so investing in a 25 year program with CPS Energy in a city where we’ve set some deep roots, for us it makes sense to invest renewable energies that benefit not only us but also our community.
