CPS Energy chose Big Sun Solar to develop, sell, build and manage 5MWac of community-owned solar power. Through this partnership, approximately 2,500 solar-panel covered parking spaces were constructed throughout San Antonio, Texas making San Antonio a leading solar city in the South Central region in the US.

We’ve developed a holistic solar management system that enables utilities to deliver a customer-friendly solar experience without adding more work for the utility. Our solar customer portal provides solar customers a view of their solar production and performance, serves as a communications channel for solar customer inquiries, monitors system production and allows our customers to share solar credits with low income families through the local residential assistance program.
Project Facts
Vitesco Technologies selected Big Sun Solar to build a large-scale solar project adjacent to their manufacturing facility in Seguin, Texas. Local utility, Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC), approved a 3-party power purchase agreement (PPA) with Big Sun and Vitesco to help Vitesco reach their renewable energy goals. Through this agreement, Big Sun Solar will own and operate the solar project, and Vitesco will purchase the electricity generated to offset their energy consumption.
