Ismaili Jamatkhana

The Ismaili Jamatkhana in San Antonio is a significant spiritual and cultural center for the Ismaili Muslim community. About the Project

Big Sun Solar was honored to partner with the Ismaili Jamatkhana in North San Antonio to install a 145 kW rooftop solar system. This project marks a historic milestone for the Ismaili community, as it is the first Jamatkhana in the United States to embrace solar energy. The system will offset 96% of the facility's annual energy consumption, generating significant cost savings that will be reinvested into mission-aligned goals. Additionally, this installation is part of a broader global effort by the Ismaili community to lead by example in environmental stewardship.

Big Sun Solar was patient and understanding throughout the process, especially when navigating the complexities of working with a non-profit. This project, the first purpose-built Jamatkhana in the United States to go solar, reflects our core values of sustainability. We look forward to expanding our partnership as we move forward with more solar installations across the U.S."
